Go to: plex.tv and create an account
If you plan on sharing your account with close friends/family then signing up with an email address is required.
Hit Launch to launch the Plex app. You may get a banner telling you to upgrade, ignore it.
Click the Account Menu > Users & Sharing, then Add a Friend
Send a friend request to: dholladay
Once we're 'friends', I will provide access to the media, which you will need to confirm then it will be available to you.
You'll likely need to Pin the media folders to your main navigation. Clicking More then pin both Movies and TV (or any other libraries)
Note: You have to click Save after changing settings, they don't save automatically. The settings don't always sync between devices so you may need to set these after you sign in on a new device.
Quality of the Stream:
Go to the main settings, ("Settings", in App: typically in the home-page left-hand sidebar. Browser: Top right of the page)
Set the Video Quality (or Remote Streaming on phones) to the highest setting for your internet. If you aren't sure - just set to Original (or Maximum if original isn't listed)
Turn ON "Automatically adjust quality"
Other Sources:
Set each of the Online Media Sources to fully Disabled (unpin from sidebar in app), especially "Movies & TV" and "Live TV"
Go to plex-request.holladd.com
Sign in with you Plex account
You can use this site to request any Movies and TV. Movies should show up on Plex as quickly as 10-15 minutes, but longer depending on the movie age, overall availability, and how many requests are in queue.
Please be reasonable with the number of requests at a time, especially with TV. I would prefer if requests were done 1 or 2 seasons at a time
(basically, don't request 32 seasons of the Simpsons at once)If you request a movie that isn't out, or a TV show that is still on-going, it should automatically download the movie or new episodes as soon as available.
Note: The automation isn't flawless. If there is anything wrong with any media (wrong language, wrong movie, etc), feel free to send me a text. I can mark files to re-download super easily. I'm working on a way to automate this... when I stop being lazy.
